Global Search and persistent messages.
One of the things that had me raving lately is being unable to find the people I need for the tasks, mainly because our current search button locates people only in the current outpost. The other rpg I've been playing these years has been City of Heroes/Villains, which has a very useful global search and you can have a persistent message explaining what you want to do. Wouldn't it be nice if you could search by a keyword (Frostmaw, for example) and you got this:
Type Name Zone Message
W/N Dark War Ascalon City LFP Frostmaw's Dungeon!!!
R/Mo Texas Ranger Magus Stones Gotta do Frostmaw's, Arachni's, pm me
Just so we can give our good ol' sabway necros a long and deserved vacation. Maybe it's too late to implement this feature in GW1, but I hope to see this in GW2, at least.

So, would it be a like a global party search window separate from the ones in the outpost? Sounds like an excellent idea. I've always wondered why ANet never implanted something like this before...

That feature already exists;
1. press P
2. Press the Players tab
3. Choose from the option box what you want to do (quest, mission, hunting, etc.)
4. Write the details (like which profs you need, which quest you're doing, etc.)
5. Press the Seek Party check box.
6. See what other people have posted and when they invite you a green flag will come up.
7. Have fun.

global party search would be quite awesome. even having a search within towns that u can type what ur searching for would be quite convenient. this would also relieve traffic in major trading towns and allow people who have only select campaigns trade with other people that have all campaigns more effectively. of course, such a system would have to be quite large to incorporate everyone playing the game.

this would be a great idea for those that want to group if they're guild isn't into what they want to do atm. But it would have to be controled so it doesn't turn into a selling method and a running dungeon 10k thing. Global would be good because you might have several things u want to do and looking across global you might find one or two that you parties that interest you.

i think its a great idea since the game's multiplayer aspect is pretty much dead. This would allow me to sign on whenever and bring up one menu without having to vist all the different outpost, just in hopes to get a party.

This could really help dungeon groups/runners. I've seen people advertising runs for SoO and Dragrimmar in Lion's Arch, and adverts for every single dungeon in Doomlore. A global search would be amazing.
I'd also like to see a separate Trade version of this as well. Town-hopping from Kamadan to Lion's Arch to Kaineng to ToA in search of something you need gets old really fast.
Also, implementation of a search function in these windows would be brilliant. Sifting through the spam is very time-consuming.

Making it global might mean needing more tabs, like Running, Farming, Vanquishing, etc. It would definitely make things easier though, being able to see where in the world you can do stuff with other people and still not have to switch through tons of towns to do it.

No, that doesn't work. Did you even read the post? That search feature works only in the outpost you're in at the moment. Those other players that want to do the same thing as you may be in another outpost. You should know already, because everytime you go to an outpost, no matter how full of people it is, you get no responses because the whole majority of people there are farming or doing another tasks, and the people that could help you are somewhere else. You are just being destructive.

It may be hard to implement, It may take time, it may require a payment for an extra server or something, but that doesn't matter.
GW NEEDS some kinds of global party search with filtering features and a way around languages and horrible spellings so people can choose from a list what they want to do or something like that:
- Quests > My current quests > Mayhem in the market --> Click search.
- Ding! 6 found in American, 4 in English. 7 in German, 1 in French. 3 in Spanish... etc...

Yes, it may require an extra payment. I wouldn't mind paying some extra money for some features in this game. This being a free game, in the sense that we don't pay monthly fees and we can play it for years to come, I'd pay some € to have what I need in this game.
I have to say, I'm an old guy, and as I get older I find other games stupid, or at least uninteresting. Like some recent first person shooters, a friend of mine lent me Crysis Warhead, and yes, it has state-of-the-art graphics, but as a game it's worthless. After the 3rd stage I don't care about it anymore. Guild Wars is an intelligent game that requires strategy and knowledge, and for me, it's at the same level as Chess, and after this everything else looks like cr*p. WoW? Endless grinding. Warhammer Online? Most retarded skills ever.
The only game I felt happy to buy in these last 3 years was Doom 3. Yeah, that game made me want to die and go to hell to hunt demons with a shotgun, a Jack Daniel's bottle and 10 grams of blow. I'm sure to buy Doom 4 when it comes out.
But after that, there has only been one game for me: Guild Wars. And right now I don't see anything worth spending my time before this game. I just want some problems solved, and if it means a lot of work for the Anet guys, I hope they read this, I'm absolutely willing to pay for that work.

A worldwide Party Search system is the single most important thing GW PvE needs. As the game degenerated to a singleplayer online nonsense, this may be the last hope to bring back some multiplayer to it.
Last hope.
Yes, I would even pay for such a feature, but selling it doesn't make much sense - most people wouldn't buy it so few would use it, where the most important part is accessibility, just like with a trading system.

Selling it makes sense. I don't know the business model Anet has with this game, but if they have to keep the game up for years to come, they still have to cope with the server costs, they should make some more money by selling stuff in their online store.. How many people would pay for it, depends, if the average player is a youngster without a credit card, I guess there's not a big business here, but I think the majority of GW players are adults and will have no problems paying for this.

Although it would be nice to use for things like PUGing missions/quests/dungeons, there would be an insane number of these to sort through. 3 Campaign and 1 expansion, with 25+13+20 missions = 58 possible missions, and 18 dungeons. That doesn't even include the quests. Worse, people would be using it for Trade whether they were supposed to or not. Just jump to Kamadan, Lion's Arch, and Kaineng Center to see the amount of trade spam that already occurs there, and then multiply that by the people who were in mission outposts waiting to start a mission, but wanting to buy/sell.
I'd bet Anets servers can't handle it, and I bet the amount of programming to make it function correctly for so many possible variations would take LARGE amounts of time.
